The civil court of the Maldives has gone into recess starting from December 1 to December 20.
According to the regulations determined by the judge’s council on 4th January 2011, the court is allowed a recess every year for the first ten days of June and the first 20 days of December.
The civil court revealed that during the recess period, judges of the court will oversee cases for temporary orders and other urgent cases to reach the court's target of concluded cases.
During recess, the court normally focuses on administrative tasks. It will also continue to accept cases during this period.
The Supreme Court went into recess on Thursday.
