President of opposition People’s National Congress (PNC), Abdul Raheem Abdulla, has been summoned and questioned by the police.
He was questioned at 08:00 pm on Saturday night due to a complaint against the former MP filed by the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA).
According to the complaint, Abdul Raheem disrespected the judiciary by threatening to “jail” the five judges that gave out the guilty verdict to opposition leader and former President Abdulla Yameen, while speaking to opposition supporters at a press conference following Yameen’s conviction on money laundering on Thursday.
Nonetheless, he denied threatening the Criminal Court judges at a press conference on Saturday evening.
