The Elections Commission (EC) of Maldives has announced that the Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form required for the application process for those contesting the vacancies on the Supreme Court bench, and the Prosecutor General's position will be available until 18:00 of Saturday evening.

According to the EC, their office will be open on Saturday from 12:00 pm to 18:00 hours in order to assist in the application process for those contesting for the vacancies on the Supreme Court bench, and the Prosecutor General's position.

The Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form by the EC clarifies whether the applicant belongs to a political party or not.

While the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has also announced a number of vacancies for Judges of multiple courts, the president's office announced the vacancy for the position of the Prosecutor General's position.

The former Prosecutor General, Aishath Bisham, resigned on Thursday amidst an impeachment motion against her following allegations of allowing the former government to influence the PG Office’s work.
