Upon the official invitation of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has embarked on an official visit to the middle-east.
While Solih departed on Friday evening, he is accompanied by Speaker of the People’s Majlis and former president, Mohamed Nasheed said that he expects the visit to enhance the “already outstanding” bilateral relations shared between both nations.
Although no details have been shared regarding the two-day official visit, Maldives and UAE signed a visa-waiver agreement during Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid’s visit to the middle-east in December 2018.
This is Solih's second visit to the United Arab Emirates since assuming office in November 2018. He was there in January this year, also on the invitation of Zayed.
