The foundation stone for the new powerhouse in Uligamu island of Haa Alif atoll has been laid on Friday.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was inaugurated by the managing director of Fenaka Corporation Limited, Ahmed Saeed.
Speaking during the ceremony, Saeed revealed that arrangements for citizens to pay their electricity bills from home will be finalized during the upcoming month of December.
Moreover, he declared that by January 2020, electricity bills will be printed and issued at the customer's doorstep.
Construction of the new powerhouse in Uligamu is contracted to Two L Construction Pvt Ltd for MVR 5,599,454.10 (five million, five hundred and ninety-nine thousand, four hundred and fifty-four point one rufiya).
The project is to be completed within 170 days.
