Supreme Court Chief Justice Dr. Abdulla Didi has refused a summon notice by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

In a statement late Monday, JSC revealed that they had attempted to deliver a summon notice to the Chief Justice who had in turn, refused to sign for it.

The commission is seeking to summon the Justice for questioning regarding a disciplinary issue being investigated against the judge.

However, JSC revealed that Didi had inquired details of the summon from the employee who went to deliver the notice and then “shut the door in his face” without accepting the notice.

While the chief justice refused to accept the summon notice, JSC said that another justice living in the building had accepted the notice delivered to him.

While this is one of the many disciplinary issues being investigated against Justice Abdulla Didi, he has made various allegations against both JSC and DJA, including of obstructing the administration of courts and paralyzing the judicial system.

Just last week, JSC launched an investigation into the justice after receiving a complaint of threatening the secretary general at the court with dismissal. Didi denied this, saying that he had merely counseled him not to repeat behavior seen on his side.

While The commission also accused him of hindering the SG's work and influencing him not to abide by the recent changes to the JSC regulation, Didi assured via a statement that he fully supports the amendments.
