School based therapies to be launched next year
The ministry is currently in the process of hiring a speech therapist, an occupational therapist, and a behavioral therapist to dispatch around the country as a mobile team

Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Ali, has announced school-based therapies for students with special needs will be launched next year.
While speaking on RaajjeTV's "Fashaairu" programme, the minister highlighted the most common complaint from parents is the lack of services that cater to special needs children.
She noted that many parents currently have to go through the arduous process of traveling to Male' and waiting in long queues as the child's condition worsens, in order to prove the child with therapy.
Therefore, the ministry is currently making efforts to establish school-based therapies to resolve the issue.
The ministry is currently in the process of hiring a speech therapist, an occupational therapist, and a behavioral therapist to dispatch around the country as a mobile team.
The ministry is also seeking additional therapists in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services.
