Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has held a musical drill display and band activities in commemoration of the Maldives Victory Day.

The activities were held in Central Park, Hulhumalé on Friday evening and several citizens gathered in the area to observe the activities.

Minister of Defense and National Security, Mariya Ahmed Didi, Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal and Vice Chief of Defense Force Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef had also participated in the event.

Individuals who participated also got the opportunity to click photos with the drill squad and band and music wing officers.

MNDF musical drill displays are deemed to be one of the activities that mirror the unity within officers and their high spirits.

The drill will be displayed again on Saturday as well.

MNDF has scheduled several activities on the occasion of Victory Day, celebrated annually on 3 November to mark the defeat of an attempted coup by a Sri Lankan terrorist group in 1988 with the collusion of a couple of Maldivians, who masterminded the attack.
