Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has launched a programme to assess the safety codes of sea vessels.
This program will be conducted in the Huvadhu atoll region, from the 13th to the 15th of October.
The programme, led by the MNDF Southern Area Coast Guard squadron, will check whether the vessels are all up to the standard described in the vessel’s safety certificate.
This includes checking the vessel's marine VHF, checking the captain's license and the relevant safety and security measures.
