Two men arrested attempting to break into Sonee Sports

Two men were arrested while attempting to break into Sonee Sports.

According to the Maldives Police Service (MPS), a report was filed around four in the morning of two men breaking and entering into the shop. Shortly after, MPS caught the two suspects on the ground floor of the Sonee Sports building.

Additionally, one of the suspects had attempted to conceal his identity by wearing a helmet during the burglary. Furthermore, one of the suspects resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer.

MPS disclosed the suspects include an individual under eighteen and another Maldivian over the age of eighteen.

No goods were found to be successfully stolen, however, MPS found tools used to break into the store at the scene of the crime.

Moreover, tape covering the license plate of the suspect's motorcycle lead to further investigation which revealed that the suspect's motorcycle was a stolen vehicle and promptly towed.

The case is currently undergoing investigation.
