Minister of National Planning and Infrastructure, Mohamed Aslam has revealed that the government intends to carry out land reclamation projects across the nation, all at once, and complete them at once as well.
Speaking at Parliament’s Committee on National Development and Heritage upon being summoned, Minister Aslam revealed that the government intends to complete all land reclamation projects at once instead of carrying them out as separate projects
While development projects have been spanned out under a plan, Aslam said that it will only begin once all the required land reclamation projects are completed.
Aslam stated that once land reclamation is completed, development work will be sped up.
Highlighting that there are a lot of islands lacking land space, Aslam revealed the ministry’s plan to begin a land reclamation project to change the Gulhifalhu Port alongside several other projects.
Minister Aslam gave his assurance that the projects will be contracted to expert, leading and well-experienced companies.
