JSC to counsel three Supreme Court justices following complaint

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced its decision to counsel three justices of the Supreme Court bench.

With the inclusion of Chief Justice Dr. Abdulla Didi, JSC revealed their decision to counsel Justice Adam Mohamed Abdulla and Justice Abdulla Areef following the report by its investigative committee on complaints submitted against the three.

In a statement on Tuesday, JSC revealed that their decision comes under article 39 of the Judges Act which requires judges to be counselled if any complaints are raised against them

It also decided to advice Magistrate of Kondey, Gaaf Alif atoll, Mohamed Ibrahim the same way.

JSC at its 68th meeting decided to look into disciplinary issues submitted against several judges; Civil Court Judge Abdul Naseer Shafeeq, B. Eydhafushi Magistrate Ummul Kulsoom Aboobakur and GA. Gemanafushi Chief Magistrate Ibrahim Muneer.
