President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf have discussed infrastructural and industrial development projects.
Discussions were held on key upcoming projects during a meeting between both leaders on the sidelines of the 74th United Nations General Assembly held in New York, USA.
During the meeting, President Solih and Minister Al-Assaf discussed trade, stability and security concerns in regional and international commerce as well as possibilities for multilateral partnership.
Further, Solih had shed light on the commencement of direct flights between Riyadh, Jeddah and Maldives which is believed to pave way for further strengthened connectivity that will benefit the people of both nations.
The meeting also saw discussions to establish a Maldivian consulate in Jeddah as well as possibilities to positively revise Saudi Visa Fees for Maldivians traveling to the kingdom.
Noting his pleasure to observe positive development in bilateral ties between both countries, Al-Assaf expressed keenness to strengthen diplomatic ties with Maldives.
Issues of global importance were also discussed during the meeting.
