President renames Department of Heritage

The Department of Heritage has been renamed to the “National Center for Cultural Heritage” on Monday.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih brought the change in accordance with section 14 (b) of the Heritage Act on 12 September.
The President’s Office revealed that the purpose of the act is to safeguard the preservation of historical sites and items that pose significant to future generation and ensures the documentation and protection of cultural heritage
The center functions under the mandate of the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage.
