President appoints Deputy Minister of Communication, Science and Technology

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Mohamed Shathir of Thiringali as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology.

The President’s Office announced the appointment in a press release on Sunday.

Mohamed Shathir most recently served as the Director-General of the National Archive and has also previously served as Senior Editor of Voice of Maldives and other prominent positions.

Shathir is also a dedicated and prominent persona in the editorial vocation and historical research and serves as a consultant for numerous organizations in similar capacities.

He is the recipient of the 2017 National Award of Recognition for his contributions to raising awareness on Maldives history and has completed various programs and courses in the academic and editorial professions.
