Maldives Customs Service has seized 4.2kg of drugs.

Customs stated that the drugs were brought in from Trivandrum, India, by a 48-year-old man.

Officers had found the drugs in his luggage during a search conducted over his suspicious behavior.

Customs stated that the drugs were positive for hashish oil and that the 4.2kg of drugs is worth MVR 1.1 million.

The suspect and drugs have been handed over to the police service, which is continuing the investigation.

Earlier this month, Customs caught a 25-year-old man with 1.5kg of drugs and, overall, confiscated 19kg of drugs so far this year.
