National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has briefed the parliament’s social affairs committee on their work.
NSPA CEO Ismail Azzam Waheed, Deputy CEO Rugiya Mohamed, Director Suneetha Abdulla, Assistant Director Noorul Hudhaa Hussain, and Legal Officer Ismail Shariu met the committee on Tuesday.
At the meeting, NSPA provided information on the progress of their work, discussed the obstacles they face, and assured they will give their full support to the parliament’s work.
NSPA highlighted that they receive the budget without issue but face legal obstacles in their work. They also discussed assisting people from the islands with administrative tasks such as completing forms.
The social affairs committee chair assured that they will make the necessary changes to eliminate the legal obstacles faced by NSPA after further discussions and provide information on any bills in parliament concerning the agency.
