The Ministry of Environment has contracted a company with the construction of a flood mitigation system in Holhudhoo of Noonu atoll.

On Tuesday, the ministry revealed via twitter that Canadian Crystalline Water India Limited has been contracted with the project.

The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday, where Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan signed on behalf of the ministry and Legal Representative Hamdhoon Anees signed on behalf of Canadian Crystalline Water India Limited.

The project to drain stormwater in the island caused by heavy rain showers is estimated to cost over MVR six million. As such, it is estimated to cost approximately MVR 6,569,000.

Canadian Crystalline Water India Limited is tasked with completing the project within the span of 10 months.

The project is being carried out under the state’s Public Secretary Investment Program.
