President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has offered condolences to King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud following the passing of his brother, Prince Bandar bin Abdulaziz al-Saud.
Solih expressed grief in learning of the news and stated that the Prince’s dedication to the progress of the kingdom and his invaluable services will always be remembered.
Further, he extended condolences on behalf of the government and people of Maldives to the royal family.

The eldest son of the kingdom’s founding monarch passed at 96 and the royal Al-Saud family is to host his funeral after Isha prayer on Monday at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
While the cause of his death is yet unconfirmed, international media reports that the prince had been ill for several years.
He is survived by Prince Faisal, Riyadh governor, and Prince Abdullah, National Guard minister.
Prince Bandar was not said to be a politically active member of the royal family.
