Developed in Fasmendhoo island tucked in northern Raa atoll, Emerald Maldives Resorts and Spa is set to open in August.
Managed by a hotel chain Emerald Collection quartered in Rome, the resort is a member of global hospitality consortium Leading Hotels of the World.
Composed of a spacious 20-hectares of land and 100 hectares of lagoon, the resort boasts 120 luxurious villas with private pools and jacuzzis.
While 60 of the villas are on land, the other 60 are over-water villas out of which one includes a Royal Villa and two Presidential Villas, one in land and one over-water.
With a scatter of several superior beach villas, the island also features four restaurants.
The main restaurant, Aqua, offers alfresco dining with a breathtaking ocean view while the Mediterranean Restaurant, situated over-water which offers scrumptious meals of which the preparation may be observed through an open kitchen.
The island’s oriental restaurant, the Asian Restaurant is perfect for those seeking authentic Asian cuisine and its flavors at its best. Nestled into the forest of the island, the restaurant has an innovative, nature-like structure linked to the country’s traditions.
Finally, the Beach Grill Restaurant offers delightful choices for lovers of the Italian cuisine, with a pizza and pasta station located in the beach club which faces the crystalline waters.
All four restaurants offer a vast selection of menu items including meats, cold cuts, seafood and choices for vegetarians as well.

Perfect for those seeking adrenaline pumps, the island has stationed a sports center with the inclusion of tennis courts, a squash court and a football field. The resort is accessible by a 45-minute seaplane ride or a 30-minute domestic flight from Velana International Airport to Ifuru Domestic Airport, followed by a 20-minute speedboat ride.
