Maldives Immigration has received access to the database of Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organization.
The agreement was signed by Police Commissioner Mohamed Hameed on behalf of the Central Bureau of Male’ and Controller General Mohamed Ahmed Hussain on behalf of Immigration.
Commissioner Hameed said that making the best use of Interpol will further improve the police service.
Immigration stated that the agreement will allow them to have access to Interpol’s border security management database which will improve the screening process.
Maldives has been a member of Interpol since 1984. All 194 Interpol members are connected by the central bureau database.
