Ahmed Zahir has received the Golden Pen for journalism.
The award was given to him by Home Minister Imran Abdulla, who also presented the journalism awards at last year’s event to mark 75 years of journalism in the Maldives.
Zahir had been unable to participate in the 2018 journalism awards, held by Maldives Media Council.
At last year’s awards, eight received the Diamond Pen and nine received the Golden Pen for journalism.
