Local airline operator Maldivian has announced its decision to bring in two more aircrafts for its operations.
During a meeting of Parliament’s committee of State-Owned Enterprises on Tuesday, Island Aviation’s Managing Director Mohamed Rizwee stated that they are working to bring in two more aircrafts for the inauguration of the newly developed airports.
While four new airports are being developed, Rizwee said that they are not equipped to operate flights there on a daily basis.
The airline operator currently operates 10 aircrafts to 11 different airports across the nation.
Further, Rizwee noted that profits earned by the airline during the first six months of this year has increased two-fold in comparison to the same period last year.
In addition, the MD said that they are currently working to expand their fleets in order to provide their services more efficiently.
