Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has discovered four foreign fishing vessels trespassing in Maldivian waters.

While the four vessels, trespassing in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) have been seized by MNDF’s Coastguard ship Shaheed Ali 140 nautical miles off Fulidhoo island in Vaavu atoll, the CG is working to escort the four ships to capital city Malé.

The ships were discovered by Dornier crafts patrolling the EEZ from 8 to 10 July.

They were discovered through a surveillance conducted jointly by MNDF CG and Indian CG.
