The previous government appointed the members of the Privatization and Corporatization Board members without the parliament’s approval, says Ilyas Labeeb, chairman of the state-owned enterprises committee.
Regulations dictate that the President send the names of board appointees to the parliament for approval.
Ilyas said that the members were appointed between 2014 and 2018 without the parliament’s approval and that the board had neglected its responsibilities.
The committee on Tuesday decided to send their yearly report of the PCB to the Auditor General and conduct a performance audit.
