Tourism Minister has traveled to Manafaru resort to investigate an issue over the management’s decision to layoff employees.
The resort management made the decision to dismiss a large number of employees due to slow business.
Minister Waheed, who traveled to the resort on Sunday, said that the ministry has taken it upon itself to investigate the issue.
The media reported that, due to their poor financial situation, the resort has done some restructuring and decided to eliminate positions, which resulted in employees going on a hunger strike.
Minister Waheed said that he will confirm whether the resort has reached the point of redundancy and that he will help solve the issue according to the rules and regulations, while upholding the rights of employees.
