Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested three suspects in Gahdhoo island of Gaafu Dhaalu atoll, in connection to a case where a power cable of Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) was cut.

While the power cable was planted near the island's newly constructed school, police received the report that the cable was cut off, at around 11pm on Saturday.

Police arrested a 34-year-old, 36-year-old and a 42-year-old under a court order, in connection to the case.

Upon being presented by a magistrate in Vaadhoo Magistrate Court, it had ordered to keep them in remand until their trial concludes.

Established in 1995, MWSC currently provides its services to 50 percent of the population.
