Maldives government has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
While terrorists attacked the two pumping stations on Saudi Aramco's East-West pipeline in the governorates of Al-Dawadmi and Afif in Saudi on Tuesday morning, the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Wednesday.
The statement reads that the government also condemns the recent acts of sabotage in the Arabian Gulf that targetted the security and stability of the region and threatened the global economy.
Reaffirming its solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against those threatening its security, Maldives commended the constructive role of the kingdom to bring harmony, peace and security in the entire region.
Further, the statement read that Maldives is “fully committed” to the fight against terrorism and that the government will continue to work closely with the international community to eliminate the global menace.
According to international media, terrorists attacked two pumping stations in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday morning via drones. The pipeline carries Saudi oil from fields in the Eastern Province to the port of Yanbu on the west coast.
