An inmate at the Maafushi Prison in Kaafu Atoll has been injured in a fight.
The fight occurred on Thursday afternoon and the inmate was taken to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The hospital had deemed his condition to be non-serious and discharged him.
The Maldives Correctional Services say the 31-year-old had sustained impact to his chest and ‘was bleeding from his mouth’.
The police are investigating the incident.
