Government will never deprive the people of their rights: VP Naseem
"Have to work in a transparent manner"
Several mosques are being renovated in Malé and outlying islands

The government of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will not carry out anything that is undesirable for the people, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.

The Vice President said this while speaking at an event held at the Islamic Center on Saturday to launch "Dharuma Kamaakemi", an initiative of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs which paves way for those interested in investing in mosque construction across the nation and for volunteers to maintain and carry out renovation work at mosques.

VP Naseem stated that the government will not do anything in a way that deprives the people of their rights and freedom, and that it plans to work closely with the people and listen to the people’s opinions when carrying things out.

Shedding light on the work of the ministry, VP Naseem stated that they must have the people’s full trust in everything carried out under the supervision of the ministry. He added that everything related to the rights of the people must be done in a transparent manner.

Highlighting that many mosques are being built across the Maldives, in Malé as well as the outlying atolls, VP Naseem stated that issues surfacing in mosques may be resolved with the cooperation of the people.

Further, Naseem added that Maldives has highly prioritized things related to Islam for a long period of time and that maintaining the friendly ties and etiquette that binds the nation together is very important. He emphasized on the importance of teaching our children the importance of maintaining this etiquette as well.
