State Electric Company (STELCO) has warned of possible power cuts in capital city Malé following a technical issue to their generators.

Taking to twitter after some regions in the capital experiences a power outage, STELCO wrote that some households in Maafannu, Mahchangoalhi and Henveiru are experiencing power outages. As such, some households have had their power cut for over an hour and more since afternoon.

Writing that a team of engineers is working as “quickly” and “safely” as possible to restore power, STELCO promised to keep the public updated on the situation.
