Island Council members of Maamigili island have briefed President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on the “urgent” requirements of the island community as well as the current status of the island.
This was done during a meeting held at the President’s Office on Wednesday afternoon, where the island council members filled the President in on the issues surfacing for the island residents that require swift action.
Noting the lack of resources at the island’s health center, the council members emphasized the issues surfacing for the island’s school.
Council members also highlighted that the youth center and mosques on the island are in need of renovation.
Further, they reiterated the island community’s concerns on the importance of a road development initiative.
Shedding light on his government’s high priority in solving issues surfacing for health and education sectors across the nation, President Solih had assured the council that his government will put in all efforts to fulfill the people’s needs.
