The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has found and confiscated drugs hidden inside a packed submarine sandwich.
Officers found a film cannister containing what they ‘believe to be a prohibited substance’ tucked inside the sandwich, upon searching an individual who arrived in Felidhoo of Vaavu Atoll.
MPS media says their intelligence unit had received report of an individual attempting to carry such a substance onto Felidhoo, from capital city Malé.
The 35-year-old in possession of the drugs was searched and apprehended at the island’s harbour; police say they are investing the case further.
