A fire that broke out in a guest house located in Mathiveri island of Alif Alif atoll has been extinguished.

RaajjeMV understands that the fire was quelled by the Civil Fire Team with the help of island residents not long after it broke out on Sunday evening.

Casa Mia had been closed down for construction at the time the fire broke out.

While employees had been working in the resort although it had not been operational, no injuries had been reported.

The cause of fire has not been revealed yet.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) received the report of the fire close to 10:30 on Sunday night. And a team of officers had been dispatched to the scene immediately.

Casa Mia Maldives which contains 35 rooms is owned by Abdulla Jabir, who won Kaashidhoo constituency in the Parliamentary Elections on Saturday.
