Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) revealed that a total of 207,360 citizens had cast their votes during the Parliamentary Election held on Saturday.
According to ECM statistics, 207,360 out of the 264,442 eligible voters had cast their voted by the time polls closed at 6pm on Saturday.
ECM officials had begun counting ballots at around 6:35pm at some polling stations across the country.
While voting began at 8am in Maldives, it was initially to conclude by 4pm which was later extended due to less voter turnout.
