President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that local tourism in Landhoo island of Noonu atoll must be expanded further.
Solih made the statement while speaking at the campaign event for Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s candidate for Manadhoo constituency, Ahmed Haroon on Thursday. He stated that the local tourism sector in Landhoo needs development.
Highlighting that his government prioritizes this, President Solih pointed out the many historic sites situated in the island.
President Solih also assured the community that the government will pave day for its residents to work while residing in the island.
In addition, President pledged to upgrade the island’s harbor area, to build contemporary mosques in the island, to establish clean water supply and sewerage systems as well as recreational facilities such as a football field for the island’s youth community.
