High Court is to give out verdicts in seven cases related to Saturday’s parliamentary elections, on Thursday.
The court earlier this week announced that it has received seven complaints regarding the election, adding that all of them are regarding their names not being in the voters’ list.
While all hearings in the cases have been concluded, the verdict hearing is scheduled for 1:15pm on Thursday.
The jurisdiction on complaints regarding elections falls on the High Court; candidates, political parties, observers or monitors and those actively involved in electoral procedures are to file complaints at the court.
The High Court “shall give a decision regarding a matter raised pursuant to this subsection within not more than fifteen (15) days of the application,” reads the General Elections Act.
According to the Elections Commission, 264,589 people are eligible to vote in the elections scheduled for Saturday.
