Maldives Association of Construction Industries (MACI) briefs Vice President Faisal Naseem on their ongoing awareness program on health and safety measures at construction sites.

During a meeting held at the President’s Office on Tuesday morning, VP Naseem had commended the association on taking the initiative to raise public awareness on the raising concerns regarding the safety of construction sites and on measures the association is taking in regards to the issues.

The association has the government’s full support int heir implementation, said VP Naseem.

He also appealed on others to follow their example and take the lead in addressing social issues instead of depending on others to take action.

Board members and the VP further discussed a possible program by the MACI to familiarize school children with the construction industry, the possible career avenues for them and on a prospective convention center that will be opened in capital city Malé’s suburban extension Hulhumalé, in the coming days.
