Telecommunications company, Ooredoo Maldives has introduced HD Voice service in the Maldives.
The service was introduced in a press conference at Ooredoo head office on Monday.
Director of Network and planning Shabeen Ali said Ooredoo HD Voice is available without additional costs and that the service is enabled through Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) Services and is a leap forward in Ooredoo’s actions to create a digital Maldives.
All Ooredoo customers with 4G Plus can access the new service with VoLTE supported handsets and HD Voice delivers calls over their 4G Plus network instead of the traditional channels.
The service promises a faster call setup time, simultaneous use of 4G Plus data services while on HD Voice calls, which are crystal clear over 4G Plus network and an extended battery life compared to other VoIP applications and regular voice calls.
CEO Najib Khan said that Ooredoo has played a leading role in introducing new technologies and services to the communication industry of the country since its establishment and that the company has provided exciting opportunities for development in the sector.
