President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has officially inaugurated the Drug Detoxification and Community Rehabilitation Center in Hanimaadhoo island of Haa Dhaalu atoll.

The Detox Center was inaugurated as part of President Solih’s current tour across Thiladhunmathi atoll.

Following the inauguration of the center, joined by former President and government coalition leader Mohamed Nasheed, President Solih had take a tour of the facility and inquired on the services and treatments made available there.

The center aims towards providing effective drug prevention methods, treatment and rehabilitation for drug users in the community as well as to effectively redeem them back to society as civilized people. It aims to achieve a drug-free community.

President Solih is currently on a tour across Thiladhunmathi atoll where he will be launching campaign events for various candidates fielded by main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) as well as to promote the party’s Agenda 19.

His tour began from Hanimaadhoo on Sunday, where he joined the campaign event for MDP candidate for Hanimaadhoo constituency, Abdul Ghafoor Moosa.
