FENAKA warns of possible power cuts in Addu City
The two-megavolt generator broke down on the 20th of March

State utilities company FENAKA Corporation has revealed that Addu City may experience recurrent power cuts during peak hours.

A statement by the company on Tuesday reads that due to technical malfunctions in one of the generators among a set of them, Addu City may experience occasional power cuts.

The two-megavolt generator broke down on the 20th of March, FENAKA revealed, going on to estimate that the city may experience power cuts during peak hours.

FENAKA further revealed that although a team of engineers from the company and STELCO had initially begun work to fix the generator, the malfunction needs a solution that requires more assistance.

In addition, FENAKA is also working to sent two generator sets with 1.2 megavolts and 800 kilovolts and two transformers with 2,000 and 1,500 kilovolts respectively, in order to bring a temporary solution to the difficulties surfacing for the island residents.
