President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has detailed his government's development plans for Funadhoo island of Shaviyani atoll.
As part of his current tour across Shaviyani atoll, President Solih spoke to Funadhoo residents during the campaign rally for the constituency’s candidate fielded by the main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) for the upcoming Parliamentary Election, on Saturday.
During his speech President Solih had assured the residents of the island that a water sanitation system is to be planted in the island as part of his government pledges.
In addition, sewerage systems are also to be stationed in the newly populated region in the island. President Solih also revealed the government’s plans to develop the island’s road structure, especially to plant a proper water piping system.
President Solih also promised an upgrade to the island’s Hospital facilities including an ICU and more space.
Stressing on the lack of space in the island’s school, President Solih pledged to construct more classrooms and bring required upgrades to the school facilities.

Other vows made to the island residents include the reconstruction of the island’s Mosque, to protect the region that has been affected by soil erosion as well as to provide the island’s youth community with recreational facilities.
During the campaign rally, President Solih had appealed on the island residents to cast their votes to Mohamed Shahid, who is running for the Funadhoo constituency for the 19th tenure of Parliament, through an MDP ticket, as he supports the government’s ideologies and plans for the progress of the nation.
As part of his ongoing Shaviyani atoll tour, President Solih is also scheduled to visit Foakaidhoo, Feydhoo and Milandhoo islands before he concludes his trip and returns to capital city Malé.
