President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was given a warm welcome from the residents of Komandoo island in Shaviyani atoll, upon his arrival to kick start campaign activities for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

President Solih was received at the island harbor by the island council president, council members, Maldivian Democtratic Party (MDP)'s candidate for Komandoo constituency, along with a number of residents.

The president's first stop after arriving in the island was to Hussain Waheed's campaaign rally, held in the island’s school, where he was given a traditional welcome.

President Solih is next scheduled to visit Funadhoo island. Following that, he will be travelling to Foakaidhoo island. He is scheduled to conclude his Shaviyani atoll from Feydhoo and Milandhoo islands.
