The Elections Commission (EC) has appointed 57 individuals to train officials for polling places in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
EC on Friday held an event to mark the end of a training program held for these individuals, who will in turn train polling officials.
There will be 4,634 officials at polling places to be set up on inhabited islands across the country, in tourist resorts, and abroad.
The training of these officials will begin on 23rd March.
EC is placing 507 ballot boxes for the election, with a voter’s registry of 264,589.
