The State Trading Organization has raised its retail prices for petrol and diesel on Friday.

Effective from Friday onwards, the prices are a result of a price lift in the international market, STO revealed.

While the price of petrol was lifted by 60 laari, the price of diesel was increased by 72 laari.

The organization set the new price of Diesel at MVR 11.61 per liter, the old price being at MVR 10.89 per liter.

A liter of petrol will come with a price tag of MVR 10.79 while its old price was set at MVR 10.19 per liter.

The last time STO hiked the prices for petrol and diesel was in October last year, the last price change being by 20 laari.
