Elections Commission has revealed that they have reached the required quorum of election officials to be active in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections 2019.
EC's spokesperson Ahmed Akram said that a total of 4,634 individuals have applied to be election officials, which was reached after the Commission opened up the opportunity for a fourth time.
Akram further revealed that they are currently conducting training programs for the “trainers of officials," which is to be completed by Friday.
The commission is training 57 individuals to become trainers for officials. Afterwards, they will begin training officials on the 23rd of March.
While the elections are scheduled for 6 April, 393 candidates are competing for the 87 constituencies.
EC is to place a total of 507 ballot boxes for the election for Parliament’s 19th tenure.
264،589 individuals are eligible to vote in this year's parliamentary election.
