The government will show a difference once it receives majority in Parliament, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said.
Speaking during the campaign launching event for Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s mid-Hithadhoo constituency candidate, President Solih urged the people to give majority of Parliament to the ruling party.
Stating that the residents of Addu City elected him for progress, President Solih stated that the community of the city believes he will fulfil his pledges to the people.
President Solih further stated that he is working to bring the desirable progress to the people of the city, as well as to fulfil his pledges and the government’s manifesto.
He also added that he will never forget that the people brought MDP to power, and his responsibilities as their leader.
Highlighting that coalition partners Adhaalath Party, Maldives Reform Movement as well as Jumhooree Party have a large role in bringing him to power, President Solih assured the people that he will not let them down.
In addition, President Solih stated that Parliament could not win majority during MDP’s previous administration. Therefore, it is important that MDP received majority in the Parliamentary Elections scheduled for April so they can provide for the people more efficiently, said the President.
“We are in power today. The councils have our majority. I urge you to give us majority. We will give you a difference” said the President.
President Solih arrived in Addu City on Friday to inaugurate the campaigns of the parliamentary candidates of the main ruling party.
