Maldives Police Service has on Saturday arrested 21 individuals in a major drug bust in the capital city, Malé.

Police Media Official confirmed to RaajjeMV that they had arrested 21 individuals during an operation carried out in the capital city upon being tipped off about drug usage.

Police had raided a house in Maafannu ward of capital city Male’ on Saturday morning under a court order and found 38 rubber packets containing substances suspected to be narcotics. Police are currently conducting tests on the confiscated items.

Among the arrested 21 include a minor and an expatriate, the police further revealed.

MPS further stated that they will publicize further details as they uncover the case.
