Elections Commission of the Maldives has announced that the deadline to submit forms for monitors and observers expired at 4pm on Thursday.
The deadline to submit forms to become observers and monitors for the Parliamentary Elections was initially pushed to 28th February on the 18th of this month.
Some of the requirements to become a monitor of the elections include being above 18 years of age, having no criminal record, having records of being a registered media official at the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) as well as being recognized by the Elections Commission as someone who works for media in Maldives, or internationally.
507 ballot boxes are to be placed across the nation for the approaching Parliamentary Elections scheduled for April.
59 out of the 507 ballot boxes will be for Male’ residents, 82 for atoll residents living in Male’, 306 for outlying atolls and cities, 39 for resorts, five at detention facilities and 12 abroad.
