Members of the Kamadhoo Island Council have briefed President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on their ongoing development projects, future projects and the residents’ concerns regarding them on Thursday.
The members of Kamadhoo Council met President Solih on Thursday afternoon and shared the challenges surfacing for island residents following the lack of proper clean water and a sewerage system in the island.
Requesting the government to take measures to solve the problems surfacing in the island due to increased criminal activity, the council members further stressed on the waste management issue.
Further, they presented a detailed report on specific requirements of the residents.
Some of the discussions held regarding projects including harbor, electricity and the sports arena required for the atoll development.
In addition, the President was also briefed on social issues and challenges faced in the island.
During the meeting, President Solih assured the members that his government will take the required action after holding discussions with his ministries in order to tackle the problems at hand.
